Winter Coats for Women
Baby, it’s cold outside! But you can stay warm and still look feminine and fashionable. For a quick fashion makeover, this wardrobe consultant suggests wearing a coat with either a belt, sash, or tapered waistline, these will accentuate your hour glass shape. My personal preference is for single breasted instead of double; I believe it has a more slimming effect. A collar is a great way to frame the face. Also, put a brightly colored scarf at the neckline, in a color that is flattering to your skin tone.
If your legs are shapely, then by all means show them off by wearing a skirt or dress instead of pants all the time. Dark colored tights, either solid opaque or patterned will silhouettes your curves. Wear as high of a heel that is comfortable. Usually you can last 4-6 hours in 2 1/2″ or 3″ heals. Make 2011 the year to strut your stuff with attitude!

Ten Tips to Help You Get the Best Results from Your Pro Portrait Shoot by Dana Rogers
Your first impression may just be made – or blown – with a photograph. Most potential clients are likely to do advance research, so they might “meet” you first on LinkedIn, Facebook or your Web site.
That means it’s essential to put your best face forward with a professional portrait. Since all headshots are not created equally, here are 10 tips to achieve the best possible results from your professional photographer.
Before the Shoot
- Select the right photographer. Make sure to choose a photographer who puts you at ease and who has created portraits you admire.
- Begin with the end in mind. Think ahead about how you might use the photos. If you are writer, you may want to pose with your book or at your writing desk.
- Do it right. Engage professionals for hair and makeup. It makes an enormous difference.
- Pre-empt stress. Protect a clear window of time for your shoot. Be ready early and do not allow interruptions.
During the Shoot
- A picture is worth . . . Bring cilppings of poses and discuss what you like about them with your photographer.
- Honesty is the best policy. Tell your photographer what you like and dislike about yourself in photos. A professional will be able to employ poses and angles to capture your best you.
- Be yourself. Avoid a pasted on, artificial smile. Take short breaks to stretch your mouth out. Keep your smile authentic by holding thoughts of someone who brings you joy.
After your Shoot
- Trust your instincts. When the proofs are ready, browse quickly, marking the ones that please you.
- Ask the expert. Take advantage of your photographer’s experience and expertise and ask for her top picks.
- Get a little help from a friend. Invite someone who knows you well to weigh in on your choices and make sure that your best self shows through.

Fashion Advise: Never Iron Again!
With a $1.95 spray bottle like this, you won’t ever have to iron again!
Here’s how: when clothes are wrinkled but clean, just spray water from a bottle like this onto fabric, toss in the dryer with a few other sprayed items that also need to be de-wrinkled, and a dryer sheet. Set dryer to delicate for five minutes. When time is up, immediately take clothes out and hang on plastic or wooden hangers, or fold neatly.

Fall Fashion Boulder, Colorado
For two weeks in a row, Daily Camera Fashion writer Aimee Heckel has written about wardrobe styles that I suggested. (Of course she has given me credit.) Last week it was about how, as a fashion stylist, I created seven different outfits from one basic dress. In today’s article I suggest five items you’ll want to have for your fall fashion makeover.
You’ll definately want to have a cute, versatile jacket like this Sashimi style that I found at the Boulder Humane Society Thrift Shop for $10.
