New Year Inspiration

So I asked myself “What do I love to do, and how can I make it into a business?” Then I grabbed a pen and paper and started writing what that business would look like. I got training, education,  joined industry affiliations, and started networking. My business began slowly, but has built over the years.
If I can do it, having had no business background, a lot of people can, too. Friends, if you had told me six years ago that I would have a thriving Image Consulting business, give presentations to businesses and women’s groups, write style and fashion for newspapers and magazines, and be #1 in local Google searches, I would have been very surprised. But I built that up, because I believe in it’s value. I love what I do and have many happy clients who now know how wonderful they feel when they look their best.
Author and teacher Marianne Williamson put it this way: “Until you accept the magnitude of your function, your unconscious mind will sabotage any attempt to show your full magnificence.”

Winter Coats for Women

For a quick fashion makeover, this wardrobe consultant suggests wearing a coat with either a belt, sash, or tapered waistline, these will accentuate your hour glass shape. My personal preference is for single breasted instead of double; I believe it has a more slimming effect. A collar is a great way to frame the face. Also, put a brightly colored scarf at the neckline, in a color that is flattering to your skin tone.

If your legs are shapely, then by all means show them off by wearing a skirt or dress instead of pants all the time. Dark colored tights, either solid opaque or patterned will silhouettes your curves. Wear as high of a heel that is comfortable. Usually you can last 4-6 hours in 2 1/2″ or 3″ heals. Make 2011 the year to strut your stuff with attitude!

Fashion Advise: Never Iron Again!

With a $1.95 spray bottle like this, you won’t ever have to iron again!

Here’s how: when clothes are wrinkled but clean, just spray water from a bottle like this onto fabric, toss in the dryer with a few other sprayed items that also need to be de-wrinkled, and a dryer sheet. Set dryer to delicate for five minutes. When time is up, immediately take clothes out and hang on plastic or wooden hangers, or fold neatly.
