My friend here was the winner of a style makeover yesterday at the Loveland, CO outlets. We shopped for new clothes at Ann Taylor and got the blouse, pants, & sweater all for under $150.00. Then we styled her hair, did her makeup, and dressed her with fantastic accessories that really add a pop of color and brighten her face. I taught her how to pose for photos, walk, and model. She’s thrilled and feels like a million bucks!

In the Friday, Oct. 15, 2010 issue of the Daily Camera, Aimee Heckel published (with my permission, of course), photos of seven outfits that I created from one dress.

This is the basic dress that I started with. It’s a Calvin Klein, from Marshall’s in Boulder for $49.00.

I added this green cardigan, a light green necklace, and emerald green peep toe pumps from J.Crew. Color!

Then I put this ivory blouse underneath the shift, tied a multi shad scarf, and changed to brown booties.

Next, I added this sweet pocka dot top with ruffled embellishment with black & white wedge heels.

For the fifth outfit, I chose a Western theme, and tied a bandana, put a checkered shirt under the dress, and paired it with cowboy boots.

For some unknown reason, my photo of outfit #6 won’t upload, so here is outfit #7.

Fall Fashion Denver

shutterstock_147609128Fall fashion; you know you’ll have to deal with it any day now. This glorious Indian Summer can’t go on forever (well, in my heaven it will.) Next week will be October and sure as night follows day, it will turn cold. You will need sweaters, coats, hats, and gloves, boots, the whole nine yards.

The color consultant in me loves pairing a white hat with white sweater or jacket. If you’re blond, you can wear white and tan or brown like these two, left. And those of you with brown hair will do yourselves a favor by wearing brown instead of done-to-death-black. Repeating the colors that are in your hair creates balance which manifests as beauty.

Belts and pencil skirts show off your womanly figure; the fashion stylist in me says go for it!

Here are some relevant tips to use to update your image from a professional image consultant:

  • Wear jackets or crisp tops with strong shoulder seams and a collar,
